Beware of a scam email appearing to be from myGOV indicating that you have a tax refund
Lanyon Partners has recently had a few enquiries from clients about an email that appears to be from myGOV, indicating that the recipient is entitled to a refund (see below).
If you receive this email you should delete it right away without clicking on any links.
The myGOV website advises that they will never send out an email, attachment or text message with hyperlinks or web addresses.
Additionally, they will never send an email or SMS asking for
- your username,
- your password,
- your myGOV PIN
- or your secret question or answers.
If you do receive a suspicious email you are encouraged to report it to myGOV or Scamwatch.
